VAT on invoices
Default for eligible EU B2B clients is reverse charge (0%), when you provide a valid EU VAT number.
- Reverse charge — you need a valid VAT number eligible for reversing. You can check it on VIES. You are responsible for declaring reverse charge where required.
- VAT-exempt EU/UN institution — generally only official institutions that are exempt from paying VAT (not only from charging it).
- Include Dutch VAT (21%) — for NL clients where reverse charge does not apply; may not be available in some EU member states.
- Outside the EU — treatment depends on where the service is provided. We will advise; proof of a tax ruling may be required.
