Dino Subašić

A face of legitimacy creating space for every voice

Dino Subašić

As a reporter for TV, radio, and print, I focus on stories and messages worth remembering. I connect the dots between policies and topics. Whereas I prepare my questions with journalistic research, I seek spontaneous responses to them.

  • Giving events a face of legitimacy and style
  • Backing every theme’s message up with facts and a plural approach
  • Bringing out what could otherwise stay unheard

People first professional.

Dino is an academically schooled journalist and followed hosting trainings from EU media programme and RTV Slovenia. But he started his career as host of weddings, proms and music concerts. Journalism added a solid layer of content on top of that, but the foundation remains the sparkle on stage, the chemistry between people and the joy of bringing people together.

Versatile.

As TV journalist at RTV Slovenija, radio and podcast creator at Euranet Plus and freelance journalist, Dino reports from different countries on topics such as, climate, war, digitalization, migration and culture. Therefore, he is able to connect themes and messages to stories and situations from different places and of different people he visited and met.

Flexible.

Dino's wide range of topics, countries and types of events make him a chameleon: adapting to the needs of the event, the participants and the mood. He works with a strict script, but can improvise when duty calls.

natural gift to interact with people

Dino was definitely spotted, at the age of 21, for his presence on stage, his keen political analysis and his natural gift to interact with people.

So much so that the Commission invited him to co-host two high-level sessions, respectively opening and closing the #EURegionsWeek in Brussels: the Citizens Dialogue held by Commissioner Ferreira with young journalists on 11 October 2021 and the closing session of the Week with European Commissioner Ferreira in charge of Cohesion Policy and Reforms and European Committee of the Regions President Tzitzikostas on 14 October 2021.

I could personally appreciate, admire and benefit from Dino’s professionalism, his passion and dedication for the job and his natural gift so early in his career.

Biography of Dino Subašić

Dino’s professionalism is based on the knowledge gained through academic and expert courses in journalism and hosting, from the European Commission’s Media Programme, in which he was selected as one of the 6 most perspective young journalists among more than 540 applications in 2020, to Slovenia’s public broadcaster RTV Slovenija’s educational programmes.

His flexibility comes from a wide range of different events he has hosted. He started locally and grew up to the international level as he used the knowledge he gained while hosting weddings, proms, and music concerts to look for chemistry between speakers and audiences at EU policy conferences in Brussels.

Versatility is Dino’s plus which he keeps widening by looking for new challenges. As TV journalist at RTV Slovenija, radio and podcast creator at Euranet Plus and freelance journalist reporting from different countries on topics such as, climate, war, digitalization, migration and culture, he is able to connect themes and messages to stories and situations from different places and of different people he visited and met.
